Patricia DeLeon, a school counselor at Creekside Elementary in Corpus Christi, Texas, says she feels fortunate to have QuaverReady at her disposal every single day.

“I was part of the original team who piloted the program to bring Quaver to the Corpus Christi School District, so I’m familiar with it on many different levels,” she explains.

DeLeon says that for three entire years, she has been working with the student on identifying and managing the emotion of anger, and that one QuaverReady song in particular has proved invaluable.
“When she’s angry or frustrated,” she explains, “I’ll sometimes start singing the lyrics, ‘Anger’s Not …”
DeLeon pauses for a moment and describes how her young student will automatically finish the sentence by singing in a loud, clear voice, “The Boss of Me!”
“She’s really proud to know the song so well, because she’s been singing it for years – and she uses the lyrics to actually regulate her emotion!”
