Why QuaverSEL?

Benefits You Can Build On

QuaverSEL partners with elementary schools to build strong foundations for Social and Emotional Learning (SEL).

1

Fully Aligned with CASEL Competencies

Not only is our curriculum fully aligned with the CASEL competencies, we also align with the 25 CASEL sub-competencies in each grade. QuaverSEL  also includes another 9 lessons in each grade to address mental health issues.  Each lesson has a structure proven to be effective that includes topic discussion, games, a reinforcing song or story, activities such as role play, and a reflections activity at the end. Each of the 35 lessons per grade lasts about 30 minutes and can be taught in one block or in 6 minute activities each day.

2

Fully Online With Extensive Functionality

QuaverSEL is online with both teacher and  student accounts. Teachers can customize lessons using our Resource Manager to pull different resources into a lesson or they can create their own resources with our resource creation tools, or they can import resources into the lessons, such as YouTube videos.  Then they can share the lessons with other teachers in the district. Teachers can also create assignments for students with video instruction and have those assignments automatically graded and placed in the class gradebook.

3

Multimedia and Interactive Resources

We take pride in creating highly engaging resources for the students and teachers alike. With a team of content specialists, game designers, computer programmers, animators and graphic artists, and audio and video engineers we provide the highest quality teaching resources possible.  In addition, we assure that the characters represented in the lessons are multicultural and some even have disabilities such as cochlear implants.  Finally, we have over 180 animated songs and stories specifically written for each lesson that are available in both English and Spanish.

4

Evidence-Based Curriculum

A rigorous 2020 statistical evaluation by SEGMeasurement – using control and treatment groups in 8 different states – showed  that QuaverSEL significantly increased student SEL skill levels  in all five CASEL competencies regardless of gender, ethnicity, or grade.  Survey research conducted by the University of Illinois at Urbana showed the QuaverSEL curriculum was embraced by teachers and students alike as effective. Testimonial evidence written up in Teacher Voices described how QuaverSEL changed school cultures. And Expert Judgement rendered by our consultants endorsed QuaverSEL to be effective in classrooms.  In some, there is ample evidence that QuaverSEL is effective.

5

Total Implementation Support

QuaverEd believes that implementation fidelity is just as important as curriculum quality.  Therefore, we invest considerable resources to ensure that teachers and counselors use our curriculum.  This includes onsite training, virtual training, monthly webinar, weekly newsletters, proactive intervention where usage is low, and ultimately one-on-one instructional coaching. In addition, we support a QuaverEd Facebook group where teachers can make their assessments known and we also have a responsive hotline that will answer calls within 90 seconds. Finally, we have a dedicated IT integrations team that will provide SSO and Roster integration services.
