Distance Teaching Tip: Manage Assignments with Ease

In light of COVID-19, we continue to be impressed by the determination and passion that Quaver teachers have when taking on this new distance teaching challenge.

Maybe you’ve tuned into a distance teaching webinar or shared ideas on our QuaverMusic Teachers Facebook group… no matter what you’ve done in this truly unprecedented time, we want you to know that we’re here for you.

As you make the transition to teaching online, we want to make sure you’re able to successfully reach your students at home.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be answering some frequently asked questions about using Quaver resources to reach students at home.

Last week, we talked about tracking assignment completion.

Let’s take a look at another frequently asked question.

Have you created assignments for your students yet? QuaverEd offers teachers a number of options for distributing content to students in a distance learning scenario.

You can learn more about the assignment creation process on our new Help Site, Help.QuaverEd.com!

At Help.QuaverEd.com, you’ll find everything you need to know about distance teaching with Quaver as well as an ever-growing library of Help articles, video training courses, and much more.

If you’ve created an assignment and distributed it to your students, you may have the same question that many other Quaver teachers have.

I assigned something to my students and I want to reassign it. Is that possible?

The answer is yes! If you assigned something to your students and either made a mistake or you want to give them another chance to complete it, reassigning is easy.

If you need to reassign an assignment at any point, there are two ways to do this: by reassigning to the entire class, or by reassigning to an individual student.

Reassign to a Class

  1. Head to Teacher Admin from your Teacher Dashboard
  2. Select ASSIGNMENTS
  3. On the right side of your screen, under CLASS ASSIGNMENTS GIVEN, select the assignment you’d like to reassign
  4. Click the green EDIT ASSIGNMENT button
  5. Click MENU
  6. Click REASSIGN ASSIGNMENT TO CLASS
  7. This will remove submitted materials for all screens in the assignment, clear all student’s submissions in the gradebook & remove any rubric submissions.

Note: If you want to reassign the assignment for every class you have, you must do this for every class by toggling between classes in the white bar at the top of your screen. Click the purple down arrow to change classes at any point.

Reassign to an Individual Student

  1. From Teacher Admin, head to your GradeBook
  2. Click the icon under the assignment you’d like to reassign and next to the student you’d like to reassign to.
  3. This will open the Assignment Review window.
  4. Click MENU and REASSIGN ASSIGNMENT FOR STUDENT
  5. This will remove submitted materials for all screens in the assignment, clear all student’s submissions in the gradebook & remove any rubric submissions.
